Reliable Global Supply of Controlled-Release Fertilizer (CRF)

We supply controlled-release fertilizer (CRF) — polymer-coated or resin-coated NPK granules that meter nutrient release over defined periods — to importers, distributors, nursery and greenhouse suppliers, turf management companies, and high-value crop producers worldwide. CRF reduces application frequency, minimises nutrient leaching, and improves nitrogen use efficiency compared to conventional granular fertilizers. Available in a range of NPK grades and release durations from approved producers in Europe, China, and other verified origins.

Wholesale supply only

We supply business buyers only — no retail sales. Orders ship as LCL or FCL.

Read the full Controlled-Release Fertilizer (CRF) product overview

Controlled-release fertilizers work by encapsulating individual NPK granules in a semi-permeable polymer or resin coating. Soil moisture and temperature drive a slow, diffusion-controlled release of nutrients from the coated granule over a pre-defined period, typically ranging from 2–3 months (short-duration CRF) to 8–12+ months (long-duration CRF for plantation and landscape use). This release profile closely matches crop nutrient demand curves, significantly reducing leaching losses, volatilisation, and the number of applications required over the growing season.

Common CRF grade families include balanced NPK (e.g. 15-9-12+2MgO, 16-8-12, 19-6-12) and high-K formulations for fruit development (e.g. 12-6-18, 11-5-19). Release duration designations (typically 2M, 3M, 5M, 8M, 12M, 16M corresponding to months at 25°C soil temperature) allow agronomists to match the product to the crop cycle and local climate. CRF is extensively used in container nurseries, landscape and turf, golf course management, annual and perennial horticulture, and precision row-crop programs where a single basal application replaces multiple split applications.

We source CRF from polymer-coating facilities with established quality management systems in Europe and China. Coating integrity, release duration confirmation, and nutrient content are verified from producer technical documentation. We can assist buyers in selecting the most appropriate grade and release duration for their crop and climate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What NPK grades and release durations are available?
We can source a range of CRF grades including 15-9-12+2MgO, 16-8-12, 19-6-12, 12-6-18, and others, in release durations of 2, 3, 5, 8, 12, and 16 months at 25°C. The available grades and durations depend on origin and production schedules. Please share your crop, climate, and target application program when enquiring.
What is the MOQ for controlled-release fertilizer?
Orders can ship LCL (part-container load) or as full 20ft containers (FCL) of roughly 20–25 MT per grade. MOQ for specific grades may be higher (50–100 MT) if not a standard production run. We can advise on consolidating multiple grades into a single container where volumes allow.
How is release duration measured and verified?
Release duration is typically measured as the time required for 75–80% of the nutrients to be released in controlled temperature water or incubation tests at 25°C. Producers provide release curve data in their TDS. Independent verification of release rate can be arranged through laboratory testing at buyer request.
Is CRF suitable for drip irrigation or fertigation?
Controlled-release fertilizers are designed for soil or substrate incorporation, not dissolution in water. They are not suitable for drip irrigation injection. For fertigation programs, water-soluble NPK fertilizers are the appropriate product. We can supply both CRF and water-soluble grades depending on your application requirement.
What origins do you source CRF from?
We source from polymer-coating facilities in Europe and China. European CRF products often carry additional environmental and performance certifications. Chinese CRF is cost-competitive with established quality for the grades commonly traded in international horticulture markets. Origin is confirmed at the time of quotation.
What documentation comes with CRF shipments?
Every shipment includes a Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, Certificate of Analysis, Technical Data Sheet (with release curve data and application guidance), and Bill of Lading. Independent inspection certificate and MSDS are available on request.

Product availability, pricing, origin, documentation, and shipment terms are subject to supplier confirmation, destination regulations, sanctions screening, and contract agreement.
