Prilled Urea 46-0-0 is produced by spraying urea melt from the top of a prilling tower, forming small spherical pellets (typically 1–2.5 mm) that cool and solidify as they fall. The resulting prill has a slightly lower crush strength than granular urea but dissolves more readily in water, which benefits foliar and irrigation application methods.

Prilled urea is widely traded in South and Southeast Asia, West Africa, and parts of the Middle East, where local farming practice and spreading equipment are calibrated for the smaller particle size. It is also used in industrial applications where rapid dissolution is required. In agriculture, it is applied to paddy rice, wheat, corn, vegetables, and cash crops.
